Water Rights Aren’t Optional—They’re Essential: Why My Local Expertise Matters

Out here on the Olympic Peninsula, water isn’t something I ever take for granted. When I help someone buy land or a home, especially outside city limits, one of the things I look into is water rights. Wells, meters, water availability letters, watershed regulations… they all play a part in whether a property will serve your needs long term.

I’ve had clients come to me after working with agents from outside the area, surprised to learn they couldn’t drill a well or that they were subject to metering under the Dungeness Rule. These are critical issues that can derail your plans fast if you’re not careful.

Because I live and work in this area, I already know which neighborhoods have sensitive water issues, what the Department of Ecology expects, and how to get the answers quickly. When water rights are on the table, you need someone who already knows what questions to ask—and how to get ahead of potential roadblocks.

Thinking of buying land or a rural property? Let’s talk before you get too far down the road—I’ll help you make sure water isn’t a deal-breaker.
